THINGS I WASN'T GOING TO DO AS A MOTHER

I think everyone is a wonderful parent before they have any kids. I was no exception.

I wasn't going to allow any screaming in grocery stores.

I wasn't going to let TV be a babysitter.

My kids would always look presentable ...

... and well-dressed.

And, they would never, ever wear matching sailor dresses!

Yeah, that's how life goes sometimes.

Ha! I love the matching sailor dresses and you are so, so right about thinking you are going to be SOOO different when you are a parent. I can't tell you the times Landon has turned every head in the produce department, screaming because I won't let him throw the apples around. Look people, I know he's loud, but I'm saving the apples!!

I think people who don't have kids should have to wear those dog shock collars. When they try to tell people who do have kids how it will be when they have their kids we could shock the snot out of them. :)

I can relate!! And I could add to this list. For example ... I will never raise my voice to my children (especially in public) ... I will never take my kids for granted ... I will always prepare healthy meals for my family ... I will never give them spit baths before church or school ... Oh, the list goes on.

It's amazing how many of our words we end up eating when we finally have kids! I've done the same thing, LOL!

Life is what happens when you're making other plans! I looked at photos of myself as a 4 yr old and asked my mother why on earth she let me go out in public dressed like that?

She responded, "Because you wanted to."

Doesn't sound unusual but this was over 50 years ago.

Some things never change.

Don't stress :)
